Robert Edward Lundquist

Layton ~ Robert Edward Lundquist passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008 of a heart attack at Davis Hospital.  He was born February 26, 1931 at the old Dee Hospital in Ogden to Joseph Edward and Gay Jeppson Lundquist.  He married Martha Joy Norman in 1953, they later divorced.  He married Pauline Mikesell on December 31, 1980 they were later sealed in the Ogden Temple, on December 31, 2001.

He was an outstanding athlete at Weber High School, winning the gold watch class of 1949.  He had a deep love for old cars, golfing and bowling, never getting his hole in one or his 300 point game.  He enjoyed many jobs throughout his life, but one of his favorite jobs was being a crossing guard at Sarah Jane Adams Elementary in Layton.

He served proudly in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; son, Mark Lundquist; daughters, Lisa (Gus) Berlin, Robyn (Scott) Zellmer, and their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Alan) Fontaine. Stepchildren; Michael (Tracy) Gorder, Wendy (Lynn) Gault and Suzanne (Bill) Weiss. 16 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister, Janet Paulsen, in-laws, John and Ida Mikesell.

He will be missed by many and loved forever.  What a hero we think he is for giving the gift of life to so many others through organ and tissue donation.

We are thankful for the love and support of our family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kays Creek Stake Center, 2435 East 1500 North, Layton, UT.  Family and friends may gather Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton. UT. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. Ogden, UT.
