Jewel Ann Parker - Fresno Bee, The - (Jun/29/2008) PARKER, JEWEL ANN -- Graveside services for Jewel Ann Parker 58, of Kingsburg will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sanger Cemetery. Mrs. Parker, an Internal Revenue Service department manager, died Friday. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Creighton Memorial Chapel.

Jewel Parker
Jewel was born on October 9, 1949, in Fresno, California, and passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008, in Fresno after waging a courageous four and a half year battle with cancer. She retired as a department manager, after 24 years of service, with the Internal Revenue Service in Fresno. She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother who made a lasting impression on almost everyone who came in contact with her. Jewel was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Thomas; and brother, Lawrence Hickman. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Hager and the staff at Cancer Care Associates for all of the wonderful care Jewel received. Everyone at Nancy Hinds Hospice also deserves praise for the outstanding service they provided during our very difficult time. She is survived by her husband, Wes of Kingsburg, Ca.; mother, Eura Hopper of Fresno, Ca.; sister, Frances Turnmire of Selma, Ca.; brother, Joel Hickman of Galeveston, Tx.; and daughters, Tracy Parker of Fresno, Ca., and Carrie Parker of Fowler, Ca. She also leaves a legacy of seven wonderful grandchildren who will miss grandma dearly. Visitation will be held at Creighton Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Sanger Cemetery on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, 1416 W. Twain, Fresno, Ca 93711.
