PENDLETON - Eunice Margaret Young, 85, of Pendleton died
Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, in Pendleton. Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Peace Lutheran Church, 210 N.W. 9th St., Pendleton.
Mrs. Young was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Portland to Clarence and Honour
(Robinson) McKinney. She was raised in Portland and graduated from Grant
High School. She married Imon Young in 1943 in Dallas, Texas; they moved
to Pendleton in 1956. She worked for SAFECO and several trust companies.
She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, where she was an organist
for over 30 years, the Historical Society, and Genealogical Society. She
was a past member of the American Guild of Organists. She was an avid
square dancer and clogger, a volunteer at the Community Bargain Counter,
and enjoyed needlepoint, genealogy, knitting, sewing and cooking. Mrs.
Young is survived by her daughter Gail Friedly of Pendleton; brother
Robert McKinney of Longview, Wash.; two grandchildren; two
great-granddaughters; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband Imon Young in 1973; and son Robert Young in 1967.
