MUSCATINE, Iowa  Martha B. Coppinger, 79, of Muscatine, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at her home.  Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine.  Memorials may be made to Unity Home Health and Hospice, Muscatine, Iowa.  Online condolences for the Coppinger family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com  Survivors include a son, Cliff Coppinger and wife, Mary Lou, of Boise, Idaho.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Martha B. Coppinger, 79, of Muscatine, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at her home.  Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Reverend Linda Coppinger will officiate the service.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Unity Home Health and Hospice.  Martha was born on February 24, 1929, in McMinnville, Tennessee, the daughter of James Ernest and Belle Brady Watson.  She married Glen Coppinger on September 11, 1948, in Rossville, Georgia.  He preceded her in death on July 26, 2000.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  She loved gardening, especially her roses, she also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, particularly Cardinals.  Survivors include three sons, Walter Coppinger and wife, Linda, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Johnnie Coppinger of Muscatine, and Cliff Coppinger and wife, Mary Lou, of Boise, Idaho; four daughters, Irene King and husband, LeRoy, of Muscatine, Rebecca Gale Krise of Muscatine, Wanda Bryant and husband, John, of Muscatine, and Lela Ann Meyer and husband, Greg, of Quincy, Illinois; 21 grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Mary Beth West, Jeff Coppinger, Teresa King-Moore, Shaina Hora, Christopher Koopman, Shawna Layman, Shannon Adams, Sharra Krise, Shane Krise Jr., Shiloh Krise, Jaime Bryant, Christina Bryant, Jordan Coppinger, Nick Coppinger, Jacob Fisher, Alex Stewart, Kyle Henricksen, Connor Meyer, Preston Meyer, and Brent Spear; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lanis D. Watson of Altamont, Tennessee; and one sister, Jean Johnson of Lima, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Fred, TJ, James and Joe Watson, two sisters, Allie Latimer and Lela Walker, and a great-granddaughter, Haleigh West.
