Melissa McClung, 48, of Denton passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at her residence.  She was born July 7, 1961, in New Orleans, LA, to William E. McClung and Carolyn Stewart McClung.  She was a professor at Texas Woman’s University.

Funeral service will be Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Director with Bill Ramsey officiating.  Another service will be Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA.

She is survived by her daughter, Bailey Ross of Denton; son, Teague Ross of Denton; mother, Carolyn McClung of Lafayette, LA; sister, Mindy Reed of Lafayette, LA; and brother, William McClung of Jefferson, LA.  She is preceded in death by her father, William E. McClung.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Melissa McClung, 48, who passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at her Denton, TX residence.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Ms. McClung was born on July 7, 1961 in New Orleans, LA, to William E. McClung and Carolyn Stewart McClung. She was a professor at Texas Woman's University.

She is survived by her daughter, Bailey Ross and son, Teague Ross, both of Denton, TX; mother, Carolyn McClung and sister, Mindy Reed, both of Lafayette, LA; and brother, William McClung of Jefferson, LA. She is preceded in death by her father, William E. McClung.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 2:00 pm until time of services.
