Lee Vinson, 77, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at his home.  Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16th at the Trent Church of Christ with Larry Gill officiating.  Burial will be in the Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.

Lee was born August 19, 1931 in Jones County to Samuel and Irene (Galloway) Vinson.  He married Betty Purser February 24, 1972 in Roby.  Lee was a member of the Trent Church of Christ.  He was a self-employed welder and also worked for the railroad as one.  He did painting and carpentry work.  Lee loved to hunt, fish and watch his grandchildren in all their school activities.  He enjoyed hosting Senior Adult Day at Pleasantville.

Survivors include his wife Betty Vinson of Merkel; 2 sons, Jerry Vinson and wife Cathy of Merkel, Joe Bigbee and wife Margo of Argyle; 3 daughters, Kathy Brenen of Sherman, Patsy Bigbee of Merkel, Pat Russell and husband Charles of Potosi; a sister, Wanda Waldon and husband George of Merkel; 2 brothers, Doyle "Dink" Vinson of Mineral Wells, Don Vinson and wife Edith "Tootsie" of White Settlement; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; and a son, Gary Lee.
