Floretta Chambers

FORT WORTH - Floretta Chambers, 88, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Floretta Chambers was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Mills County near Blanket Springs.  She moved to Fort Worth in 1951.  In 1962, she and her husband, Henry, opened Chambers Jewelers on the eastside of Fort Worth which they operated until 1989 when they retired.

While being active in the family business she was also a mother who was very involved in her children's lives.  Floretta was an acitve member of Poly Baptist Church later known as East Meadows Baptist Church.  She also was a member of the Optimistmrs.  She loved to travel and had enjoyed trips to many locations in this country and many foreign countries.  She was preceded in death by by her husband, Henry.

Survivors: Daughters, Glenna Fulfer and husband, Bob, Sherry Hyde and husband, Ronny; sons, Randy Chambers and wife, Chantel, Dan Chambers; sister, Verna Bess Collins; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
