Paul J. Dickerson Fort Worth Star-Telegram, June 19, 2010
FORT WORTH - On Saturday, June 12, 2010, Paul J. Dickerson passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer. Memorial service: To be held at a later date. Memorials: In honor of his life, donations may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas, www.hsnt.org, or Vitas Hospice Care, www.vitas.com. On Sept. 20, 1937, Paul was born to Hallie and Ethel Dickerson in Godley. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his smile and helping others. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the late 1950s and was presented with the opportunity to serve as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Paul's passion was the outdoors, bird watching and all creatures. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Herbert, Curtis and Donald Dickerson. Survivors: Wife, Beverly; daughter, Tina Marie Sachse; son, Marvin Lee Dickerson; sister, Emmaline Watkins; brother, Robert Dickerson; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Lyle Weaver and family; and a host of other family and friends.
