FAIRMOUNT -- Michael L. Owens, 44, died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday in his residence. He was born in Marion to Coy and Linda Owens and has lived in Fairmount for the past 11 years. He married Michelle Felty on Feb. 8, 2000, and she survives. Michael had his skilled-trades journeyman's card and worked in machine repair at Delphi Automotive local 292, Kokomo, and had previously worked at RCA for 14 years. He attended Fairmount Wesleyan Church and was a member of Fairmount Volunteer Fire Department. He loved mushroom hunting, fishing and football, especially the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed family outings and Street Stock car racing. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Owens, Fairmount; mother, Linda Owens, Marion; children, twins Derek and Mindy, both from Marion, and Alicia and Steven, both from Fairmount; full siblings, Jerald (Jodi) Owens, Fairmount, Darrell (Amy) Owens, Troy, Ala., Scott Owens, Marion, and Carol Miller, Marion; half siblings, Lynn (Debbie) Owens, Whiteland, Roger Owens, Marion, and Vickie (Tom) Williamson, Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Coy Owens. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, with Pastor Al Soultz officiating. Burial is in Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
