Lela Ellen Alexander, 94, passed away peacefully in Bristow, Oklahoma on March 16, 2011.  Lela was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on November 16, 1916 to Joseph William and Mamie (Cook) Brown.  On June 29, 1941, Lela Brown was united in marriage to Thomas Alexander.  Thomas preceded her to heaven in August of 2001.  Lela and Thomas were well known and beloved in the Bristow and Tulsa areas, having served as Pastors at Bristow Gospel Tabernacle for many years, and later at Gleaner Tabernacle in Tulsa for thirty-two years.  Lela was a loving, caring, selfless servant of the Lord Jesus Christ for her whole life and great is her reward!  Lela was survived by her brother, Leroy Brown and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years; and one sister, Lila Hill.  A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home Chapel.  Many thanks go out to the staff at the Rainbow Assisted Living Facility, Rainbow Nursing Facility, and Grace Hospice.
