Ron was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Nathaline "Natalie" DeBeaumont, his mother Lydia DeBeaumont, father Albert DeBeaumont and sister Norma Ward; he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Deborah Gonzalez (Santiago) of Sparks, NV, Linda Lupton (Murt) of Roseville, CA, and Ron C. DeBeaumont (Sara) of Spearfish, SD; five grandchildren, Dion Kohler, Carrie McEachern, Gregg Bussey, Anneliese DeBeaumont, and Avalon DeBeaumont; five great-grandchildren, Danny, Joey, Ariana, Xara, and Jayla; sisters Beverly Warnecke of Grass Valley, CA, Carolyn Berkowitz of Clayton, CA, and Sylvia Aldrich of Longview, WA; brothers John DeBeaumont of Walnut Creek, CA, George DeBeaumont of Anaheim, CA, and James DeBeaumont of Clayton, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Ron attended Mt Diablo High School in Concord, CA. After leaving high school, Ron served in the United States Coast Guard from 1948 to 1952. In 1955, Ron began a long and successful career with Pacific Bell Telephone in San Francisco, CA. During his career in the Bell System, Ron served in the San Francisco Bay area, Reno, NV, and Sacramento, CA, where he traveled extensively around Northern California and Nevada. In 1977, Ron accepted a foreign assignment with American Bell International in Tehran, Iran, interfacing with Telecommunications Company of Iran to assist in modernizing their communications systems. In 1979, Ron and his wife, Natalie, were among several ABII employees evacuated from Iran during the political upheaval in that middle-eastern country. Shortly after returning to the United States, and rejoining Nevada Bell, Ron was assigned to a special task force set up by the then Governor Robert List, where he assisted in evaluating operations of the State in an effort to trim the budget. Ron retired from the Bell System in 1985. He spent the next 12 years working for a couple of large property management companies servicing large buildings such as the California Lottery office. Since his full retirement in 1997, Ron has been active with the Telephone Pioneers, a non-profit organization, where he served as President of the Silver Sage Chapter for four years. In his early years in California, Ron served as an active member of the Jaycees and Junior Achievement programs, and in the late 1960's Ron was president of the Nevada Bell Men's Club. If asked, Ron would tell you his guilty pleasure is his enjoyment of music, especially the lyrics. He was particularly partial to country/folk singer/songwriters. Ron's family has planned a "Celebration of Life Memorial Service" to begin at 1:00 PM, March 19, 2011, at Bayside West Community Church, 10020 Foothills Blvd, Roseville, CA. Family, friends and past co-workers are invited to attend. Private interment will follow at a later date, in Caesars Garden - Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, NV, where Ron will be laid to rest along with his beloved mother, Lydia DeBeaumont, who passed away when he was a young boy. |
