(January 17, 1929 - September 28, 2011)

Mr. Edgar Franklin (Eddie) Griswold, Jr. age 82 of McMinnville, TN, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.  He was born January 17, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN, was the former plant manager for DeZurik Corp., the owner of Griswold Insulation Company, U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of Westwood Church of Christ.  Mr. Griswold was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Franklin and Ireta Alice Copenhaver Griswold, Sr., first wife Geraldine Drennan Griswold, grandson Jason Tyler Griswold, and a sister Joann Griswold James.

Survivors include wife Elizabeth Powell Griswold, McMinnville, TN, sons, E. Frank (Lisa) Griswold, Seffner, FL, and Jeffery Griswold, Murfreesboro, TN, sisters, Delores D. Griswold Stack, Katy, TX, and Peggy Griswold Scarborough, Galveston, TX. Grandchildren Julie Renae Griswold Piazza, Jeffery Scott (Sarah) Griswold, Dustin Ryan Griswold, and Megan Elizabeth Griswold and James L. Pope, Jr., and great-grandchildren Aurelia Grace Piazza, Clair Elizabeth Griswold, and Skarlette Rose Pope.

Funeral service is 10 A.M., Saturday, October 01, 2011, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.  Bro. Coy Hathcock will officiate.  Military grave rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064 at the funeral home.  Interment will be at 1 P.M. at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN.  The Griswold Family will receive friends Friday from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Saturday from 8 A.M. until 10 A.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Griswold Memorial Scholarship Fund in the Industrial Arts Department at M.T.S.U. in care of Citizens Tri-County Bank.
