Donald M. "Donnie" Lillard

Donald Michael "Donnie" Lillard, 56 of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 3:45 P.M. at the Sycamore Healthcare Centre in Quincy, Illinois after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 6, 1955 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Lee and Martha Bemis Lillard.  On Sept. 11, 1976 he married Janice Rodgers in Carthage, Illinois.  He later married Ellen Evans on April 24, 1989 in Lodi, California.  She preceded him in death in June 1995.  In October 1997 he married Connie Wolf.  They later divorced.

He graduated from the Dallas City High School in 1973.  He worked in construction and was a cement finisher in Illinois and later Washington state.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Bears.  He enjoyed playing cards and being with family and friends.  He attended the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City.

Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Lillard Pitts of Mercer Island, Washington, one sister, Karen "Sue" Hunnicutt of Carthage, Illinois, 4 brothers, Barry (Beverly) Lillard of Dallas City, Russell (Linda) Lillard of Shreveport, Louisiana, Christopher Lillard and fiancé, Teri of Plymouth, Illinois and Carl (Sue) Lillard of Atwater, California, a special cousin, Marilyn Ross of Carthage, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Lillard, a sister-in-law, Janis Lillard and a cousin, Donald Heller, whom he was named after.

Following cremation, a celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating.  Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
