Biography

Inez Clevenger Smith, 87, of Remlap, died June 6, 2011, at her residence.  An Etowah County native, she was retired after 20 years as a seamstress at Blue Bell.  Predeceasing her were husband George Alvin Smith; parents Carl David and Etta Udessa Hopper Clevenger; brother Edward Clevenger; and sister Maxine Smith.

Surviving are sons David (Barbara) Smith of Oneonta and Steve (Venicia) Smith of Pine Mountain; daughters Claudette (Sam) Butler of Guntersville and Sheila Hughes of Fultondale; 11 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; sister Shelby Jean (Carl) Pletcher of Alaska.

Glenn Bynum officiated services Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Lemley Funeral Home chapel with interment following at Pleasant Mount Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Mark Smith, Grant Hughes, Matt Hallman, Paul Moro, Chris Armstrong, and Steven Hughes.  Honorary pallbearers were Brad Smith, Hunter Smith, and Bryan Hughes
