Electra, Texas died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Electra, Texas.
Graveside services will be
held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Eastview Cemetery
Officiating will be Rev. James Keenum. Interment will be under the
direction of Sullivan Funeral Home, Vernon, TX.
Mary was born Monday, July
20, 1936 in Truscott, TX, She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee
Smith and the late Susie Walker Smith . She married Donald Kent Collins on
September 3, 1954 in Odell, TX. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2005.
She had been a resident of Electra for the last 42 years. She worked as
supervisor of Accounting/Finance at Sheppard Air Force Base for over 30
years. She was an avid oil painter and loved yard work, and loved to go
to the casinos. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Electra and
former member of Odell Baptist Church.
She is survived by Her
Daughter, Glee Easter & Husband Duane of Electra, TX, Her Son, Robert
Wilson Collins & Wife Niki of Palestine, TX, Her Brother, Arnold Smith of
Dallas, TX.
Five Grandchildren, Staff
SGT. Stephen Duane Easter & Wife Layca, Guam (Anderson AFB), Laura Lee
Lacher & Husband Richard, Iowa Park, TX., Krystal Dawn Easter, Electra,
TX., Amber Lowe & Husband Matthew, Tyler, TX., Whitney Large & Husband
Jacob, Ft. Polk, LA., Six Great Grandchildren, Kaegan, Gabe, Lily, Brady,
Austin and Hayden.
Preceded in death by a
brother R.L. Smith.
Visitation will be Friday,
February 10, 2012 at 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to
First Baptist Church of Odell or American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be Staff
SGT. Stephen Easter, Richard Lacher, Kyle Robinson, Matthew Lowe, Gabe
Easter, Austin Lacher, and Jacob Large.
