Lillian May Maynard, age 89, of Smyrna, passed away on May 30, 2012 at Community Care of Rutherford County.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County and a homemaker.  Lillian was a member of Old Jefferson Church of Christ.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; Jim Hackney and Loutta Lane Hackney; husband, James Robert Maynard; and grandchild, Claye Maynard.  She is survived by her sons, Clifford (Brenda) Maynard of Murfreesboro and Robert (Joyce) Maynard of Murfreesboro; daughter, Donna Jean Woods of Canada; five grandchildren, Craig, Derek, Gretchen, Katie and Jessica; and eight great-grandchildren.

A chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Ron Caldwell officiating.  Burial will follow at Vine Cemetery in Wilson County with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
