Helen "Betty" Brown Owen

Helen B. Owen, age 98, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 7:22 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, Henderson, KY.

She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School class, and Lucy Moss Circle.  Mrs. Owen was a retired teacher having taught for 27 years at Central Elementary School.  She was a member of the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary having served over 6000 hours.  She also volunteered at Henderson County Library and library at First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Wilsie Thomas Owen who died in 1984, her parents Elsie Perryman and John Benjamin Brown.

Survivors include:

1 Son: Tom Owen and wife Brenda Henderson, KY

2 Grandchildren: Tracy Owen Peterson Chantilly, VA

Brian Thomas Owen & wife Cindy Henderson, KY

6 Great Grandchildren: Harper, Jack, Reese Peterson & Will, Wes, Trey Owen

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM , Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY.  Rev. Bob Rice & Rev. Alan Chamness will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY.
