 CROSSVILLE — Jennifer Lynn Wood, 62, of Fairfield Glade, passed away March 23, 2012.  Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 29, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m. Pastor Eddie Ware will officiate, with special music provided by Gail Holt and Dakota Ware.

She was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Beckley, WV, the daughter of Fred and Ethel Hite Grogan.  She was retired from the insurance industry as an appraiser and was also a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. She was a great lady of many talents.  Besides her career in the insurance field, she attended cosmetology school, was a licensed pilot and obtained her CDL.  She had a tremendous talent for art. When taking lessons, she was always ahead of the instructor wanting to do more.  The pieces she crafted were of great beauty and detail.  Some of her art pieces were displayed inside the home to be admired and appreciated. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her and her joy for life will live on in their hearts forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Akins of Charleston, SC; stepdaughter, Candy Ware and husband, Eddie, of Sells, AZ; stepsons, Todd Wood and wife, Rhonda, of McMinnville, and Kevin Pickett and wife, Sterling, of Charleston, SC; brother, Mike Grogan and wife, Johnnie, of Hiawasee, GA; sister, Connie Dempster and husband, Alan, of Charleston, SC; Jerold Grogan and wife, Judy, of California; sister-in-law, Georgia Peden of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Dakota Ware, Caleb Ware, Houston Wood and Jackson Wood; and beloved “grand dog,” Princess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Big Al” Wood, and her brother, Rick Grogan.

Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
