Coppinger, 57, of Wapello, died on Friday, April 5, 2013, in Wapello. The Rev. Linda Coppinger will officate services. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Church of Christ, American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association. John was born on March 12, 1956, in Muscatine, the son of Glen and Martha Watson Coppinger. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School, class of 1974. Those left to honor his memory include two brothers, Walter Coppinger and wife, Linda, Jeffersonville, Ind. and Cliff Coppinger and wife, Mary Lou, Boise, Idaho; four sisters, Irene King and Rebecca Gale Krise, both of Jacksonville, N.C., Wanda Bryant and husband, John, Muscatine, and Lela Ann Meyer and husband, Greg, Quincy, Ill.
