Memorial services for Jerry "Bob" Lawson, 68, of Lake Dallas & formally of Gainesville, Tx will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home, 2025 W. University Dr., Denton, Tx on Wednesday April 10, 2013. Family will accept visitors beginning at 1:00 with the memorial service beginning at 2:00 with Steve Herbold officiating assisted by Jerry Garrett. Jerry passed away following his final heroic mission with his team of trained missionaries. While many of the details will remain classified, his team has confirmed that he stayed true to the mission goal and objectives and saw his team through to safety. While surrounded by the enemy, Jerry stood tall and faced them without fear. He stayed with his team and fought for them through the battle of his life. During this final battle Jerry fought hard and sacrificed everything for his family and team. He is the truest form of a patriot and hero and will leave this world with a void that cannot be filled. Jerry is survived by his wife, best friend and soul mate of 33 1/2 years Sherry Lawson of Lake Dallas, daughter & son Lisa & Lonny Britten of Aubrey, son & daughter in law Jarid & Grace Lawson of Denton. His brother and sister in law, Jack & Judy Lawson of Cleveland, Tennessee. His grandchildren, otherwise known as the lights of his life, Jordan, Bryson, Caden & Nate Britten and Ashlyn Lawson. His bonus sister Sulynn Hewlett Burton & her husband & children. Mother in law Pat Kee Schuman Mason of Stephenville.
