Rev. David Ezekiel Watson, resident of McMinnville died November 04, 2013 following an extended illness.  He was 81 years old.  Rev. Watson was born October 15, 1932, in DeKalb County, TN.  He was the 10th child of Rev. Frank Lee and Eula Bond Watson.  He was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister for 52 years, a member of Murfreesboro Presbytery of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served his country with the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Mary Leota Holder Watson; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janet Watson, one granddaughter Riley Watson, all of Hillsboro, TN; one daughter and son-in-law, Lorie Elizabeth and Jimmy Reedy, three grandsons Zeke and wife Heather Reedy of Murfreesboro, TN, Rush Reedy and daughter Kambree Merritt, and Briar Reedy all of McMinnville; one sister Francis Billings, brothers Paul Watson and Morris Watson of McMinnville, and Johnny Watson of Dyer, TN.  Several nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Kevin Leigh Watson; four sisters, Doris Watson of Smithville, Virgle Mai Adcock of McMinnville, Anna Stinnett of Fairmont, IN, Rebekah Lemons of Jackson, TN; and brothers John Lee Watson, James A. Watson, Charles Loren Watson, George Watson and Lillard Watson all of Smithville, TN, Aaron L. Watson of Hot Springs, AR, Frank Lee Watson, Jr. and James Charles (JC) Watson both of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, November 07, 2013 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Daryl Alhart, Rev. Johnny E. Watson, and Bro. Morris V. Watson will officiate.  Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery.  The Watson Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 PM until 8 PM and again on Thursday from 9 AM until 11 AM at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memphis Theological Seminary, 168 Parkway South, Memphis, TN 38104 or to the American Heart Association.
