Rubena Turner Watson

Rubena Watson, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013.  She was born October 28, 1930 in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Lilburn H. and Margie (Melton) Turner.  Rubena was co-owner and operator of Watson's Antiques and was a founding member of the Lake Hamilton Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

 The life of this woman was filled with experiences not common today.  She was dedicated to a marriage lasting beyond fifty years, enjoyed working with her husband in a family owned antique business, dedicated life and love to three children, and departed from this life knowing the unconditional love of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Aaron L. Watson; and son, 1st Lt. Gregory L. Watson.  Rubena is survived by her daughters LeAnn Ford (Dennis) and Candy Jones both of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters Jo Carter (James) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Patricia Miller (Gary) of Fenton, Michigan, Lenora Edwards (Elmer) of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Maria Mott of McMinnville, Tennessee; grandchildren Stefanie Ford, Chad Ford, Sara Schaffner, Dawson Jones and Sophia Jones; and great-grandchildren Aaron and Haley Ford.

Pallbearers include Brian Kane, James Carter, Jr., Shane Taylor, Chad Ford, Dennis Ford and Dean Jones.

Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Timothy Webb, Dr. James Hagans, Odyssey Hospice, Robin Bell, Brenda Holloway, Pam Bell, Dr. Neeraj Bharany and Special Nurse Bridgette Graves.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.  Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Duawn Mearns officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Lake Hamilton Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
