January 27, 1930 - April 3, 2014

JOSHUA -- Robert Jack Clark, 84 went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2014.

Service: 3 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park.  Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m., prior to the service on Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Robert was born in Post, Texas, the younger of two sons born to Lloyd and Beatrice Clark.  He received a BS degree in 1953 and a Masters of Education in 1955 from North Texas State College in Denton, Texas.  Robert served his country during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952 in the US Navy.  He married Martha J. Bott'r in July 1952, who was introduced to him by his brother Bill who was married to Martha's sister, Betty.

After graduating from North Texas State College, he began his career in Port Arthur, Texas as an Industrial Art teacher.  In 1963, the Clark family moved to Seagoville, Texas to begin his career with the Bureau of Prisons.  Robert finished his career in 1981 as a Superintendent of Education in Bureau of Prisons in Fort Worth, Texas.

One of the joys and the biggest accomplishment was being a father to six girls and one son, ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Robert was a very generous and loving father and husband.  He loved doing any type of woodworking, but specifically loved doing hand carving.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile.

He was a member of The River Church in Joshua.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, his mother and father, and his brother, Bill Clark.

Survivors: Robert is survived by his life partner, Helen Locklear of Joshua.  He leaves loving memories to be cherished by his children, Betty Lynn Tarawater (Bill), Pamela Katekaru (Dan), Patti Lee (Danny), Sheri Jones (BJ), Meri Cozart (Randy), Jean Clark and Jack Clark; grandchildren, Leslie Haley (Van), Jason Smith (Lauran), Amy Smith (Amanda), Mandy Swope (Josh), Michael Katekaru (Carissa), Ashley Moretz (James), Sammie Terrell (Matt), Reece Owens (Christopher), Robert Clark, and Phillip Clark; 15 great-grandchildren; his nephews/nieces, Michael Clark (Patricia), Dave Clark, Tommy Clark (Diane) and Cyndi Baldwin and their families; Helen's five sons, Nathan, Larry, Mark, Wade, Scott and their families; and many friends and loved ones.
