October 15, 1926 - February 14, 2014

Dale Hasselbring, 87, formally of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Dale was born on October 15, 1926 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the union of Adolph and Velma (Alberty) Hasselbring.  As a child he attended Holy Cross Lutheran Grammar School in Saint Louis, Missouri, and was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School.  After graduation, he was drafted in the United States Army and served from 1944 until 1946.  Returning to Sarcoxie he engaged in farming for one year. In 1947 he enlisted with the United States Air Force and retired in 1972 as a Chief Master Sergeant.  During his enlistment he proudly served in World War II., Korean War and Vietnam War.  After retirement, Dale continued to serve his community in various ways, including acting as a municipal judge.  He enjoyed playing golf and belonged to several local bridge clubs.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Air Force Non-commissioned Officers Association and he was a founding member of the Air Force Sergeant’s association and was also a life time member. 

On August 16, 1947, he was married to Norma Louise Baker; she preceded him in death on November 3, 1999. 

On June 16, 2001 he was united in marriage to Marg Liedwick and she also preceded him death. 

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie, Missouri.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; wives, and one daughter; Pamela Lee (Hasselbring) Hamilton.

Dale is survived by one brother; Virgil Hasselbring and wife Beverly of Concordia, Missouri, one sister; Helen L. Howard of Joplin, Missouri, one grandson; Michael Kyle, one granddaughter; Megan Cook, five nephews; Curtiss Lynch and wife Linda, Keith Howard and wife Jan, Britt Hasselbring and wife Patty, David Howard and wife Barbara, and Chris Hasselbring and wife Pam, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services with full military honors for Sergeant Hasselbring are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Wil Myers officiating.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Military honors and military pallbearers will be provided by Whiteman Air Force Base.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Hasselbring, Steve Korff, Steve Chandler and Britt Hasselbring. 

In lieu of the flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sarcoxie, Missouri or The Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website at
