Life Legacy

Robert “Bob” James Laurick passed away on April 11, 2014.  Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Sunnyside Baptist Church, with Pastor Ron Redding and Doyle Fuller officiating.

Bob was born August 31, 1932 in Passaic, New Jersey to Harold and Anna (Kotzo) Laurick.  He served our country in the U.S. Air Force.  He went on to play football for the Green Bay Packers, and the Wichita Falls Kings.  He won the top award in the National Varmint Calling Contest.  He owned and operated Laurick Taxidermy for over forty years and has such famous clients as actor Jeff Bridges and President Ronald Reagan, even being invited to the Inaugural Ball.  He loved spending time with his family, hunting and painting.  He served as president and Executive Director of the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association and was very active in the Boys Deer Hunt and Kid Fishing Rodeo.  He also was involved in the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick contest and was the head coach of the North Texas Falcons.

He married the love of his life Priscilla (Seigler) in St. Thomas in 1999 and the couple lived in Wichita Falls and loved to Caribbean cruise together.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Harold (Greg), Ed, and Pete, as well as 1 sister, Helen.

He is survived by his wife Priscilla Laurick, his 2 sons Rob Laurick of Wichita Falls and Tracy Laurick of Dallas, 1 daughter Dawn Dockum and husband Terrell of Wichita Falls, a stepson Aaron White of Wichita Falls and a stepdaughter, Crystal Roberts and her husband Tim of Nocona.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
