Walter Kayo Morgan, 85

Saguache resident Walter Kayo Morgan, 85, passed away January 2, 2014 at Homelake Veteran's Center in Homelake, Colorado.  Kayo was born on December 2, 1928 in Denver, Colorado.  Kayo was a veteran of the United States Army.  Kayo was a professional bull and bronc rider and earned many awards.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Louise Sorrell, who preceded him in death.  He was a Farrier by occupation and enjoyed training horses, drinking coffee at the coffee shop and talking rodeo with his friends.  Kayo was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Vickie Marie, of Pine, Colorado; daughter Vykki (Buddy) Martin of Montana; stepson Jim (Cathy) Ellis of Kona, Hawaii; and his sister, Harriet.

Kayo was preceded in death by his parents Terrance and Sarah Morgan.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Saguache Community Building in Saguache, Colorado, with full Military Honors to follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
