Carol Sue Koch Welborn Billings Gazette, The, Dec 17, 2014
Carol Sue Welborn, 63, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2014, in her home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her time was extended due to the loving prayers of many wonderful family and friends and her medical care options. Carol was born on Oct. 1, 1951, in Billings to John and Mary Ellen (Crum) Koch. She was the youngest of 10 children and grew to become the heart of the family. She married David Lindeen in 1969, had a son, Wesley, in 1973 and had another son, Nicholas, in 1978. In 1983, she married Douglas Welborn. In 1998, Steve Rauchle became Carol’s life companion and stayed by her in sickness and in health. Her family continued to grow as her children married and had seven grandchildren. Throughout her life, she dedicated her time to the banking industry. She served 26 years at the Bank in the Worden community where she also volunteered endless “mom” hours to the Huntley Project School. She served on the school board, supported her boys and later her grandchildren in various activities. The remainder of Carol’s career was with the “Fraud Squad” at Wells Fargo in Billings where she was recognized for her loyalty and ability to take on additional responsibilities. Carol loved baking for others, working in her yard and spending time with family. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her sister Roberta and her parents, John and Mary Ellen Koch. She is survived by her siblings Joyce Chavez, Leo (Penny) Koch, Phil (Joyce) Koch, Robert (Ann) Koch, Ron (Mary) Koch, Stan Koch, Jim Koch and Nancy (Eugene) Krieger; companion Steve Rauchle; son Wesley (Rene) Lindeen and their kids Dawson, Delayne and Karleigh; son Nicholas (JayDee) Lindeen and their children Wylee, Kabreena, Westen and Walt; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and cousins. The Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Smith’s Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at St Bernard’s Catholic Church, lunch to be served after the service.
