Obituary for Brenda Sutton Owen Brenda Sutton Owen, age 72, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 10:07 AM, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Brenda was born in 1943 in Henderson. Her dad was an aluminum miner, and her mom was a homemaker. Brenda graduated from City High School. She was the basketball homecoming queen, a class officer, and voted most likely to succeed. She met the love of her life, Tom Owen, when she was in the 6th grade, where her teacher turned out to be her future mother-in-law. She and Tom married in July of 1966; they built a house in Balmoral Acres. They both were teachers at City High and then moved to HCHS where she taught for 18 years. Brenda was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple and First Baptist Church where she always made sure her family was in attendance. She loved boating on the Ohio River and Kentucky Lake. She enjoyed Broadway plays, a couple of her favorites being The Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis. Most of all she loved her family. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Frances Sutton and brother William Sutton. Survivors include:
Husband: J. Thomas Owen Henderson, KY Relatives and friends are invited to Brenda’s Life Celebration from 1:00 PM until the service time on Sunday. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Linn, PhD officiating.
