ERNEST STROMER Dies at Home Here Last Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services for Ernest E. Stromer, 64, were held yesterday afternoon, Sept. 1, at the Methodist church, conducted the the pastor, Rev. Ray M. Brown.  Burial was made in the Burlingame cemetery.  Mr. Stromer's death occurred quietly and without warning as he sat in his home Sunday afternoon.  Although he had been in failing health for the past few years and obliged to give up the strenuous work on his farm, his death came as a shock to his family, neighbors and friends.

Ernest Edward Stromer, son of Ben and Josephine Stromer, was born in Muscatine, Iowa, March 3, 1879.  He came to Kansas in 1903 with his parents who settled on a farm three miles west of Burlingame, and upon this farm he continued to make his home until his death.  He was united in marriage to Miss Mabel Gabler of this vicinity on January 31, 1912.  To this union was born one son, Edward William Stromer, both whom survive.

Mr. Stromer was a prosperous farmer and cattle man and interested in national, state and community affairs.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Stromer, the son Edward W. Stromer of the home; a sister, Mrs. Tilda Griffitts of Burlingame; two grandsons, William Ernest and Charles Edward Stromer, and many other relatives and friends.
