The Llano News, May 5, 1927, page 1

DEATH OF MRS F. A. TEMPLETON

Mrs. Clara Cornelia Templeton, wife of F. A. Templeton, died in Llano at the home of her brother, G. M. Townsend, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after an illness of some eighteen months, and during the last few weeks, her death was expected almost daily.

Mrs. Templeton was born in Llano on August 21, 1893, and was 33 years old at the time of her death.  On June 8, 1924 she was united in marriage to Mr. Fred A. Templeton.  To this union, one child was born, which died in its infancy.  While she was born in Llano, yet the greater portion of her life was spent in other sections of the state, and for some ten years, she was a teacher in the schools of Williamson County.  For the past ten years, however she has been in this county.

In 1907, at Jarrell, Texas, she united with the Methodist church, and since that time has been a most consistent member, and was a great worker in the Sunday school of her church.

Mrs. Templeton was a lady held in the highest esteem by all who knew her, and despite the fact that her death had been expected for some time, yet the news came as a great shock to the many friends throughout this this county, as well as in other places.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. C. A. Townsend, three brothers, C. E. and J. G. Townsend of Lone Grove and G. M. Townsend of Llano, besides many other relatives.

A short service was held at the family residence yesterday afternoon after which a large concourse of heartbroken relatives and sorrowful friends followed the remains to Lone Grove where the funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. J. Mason, assisted by Rev. Alvin Johnson.

In their hour of deepest sorrow the husband, mother, brothers and other relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of their host of friends, and as they mourn, may the light of perfect faith come over them, which gives positive assurance that all is well with their loved one, and about the throne of her Creator, she will await their coming.  Mrs. Templeton, was a pure, loving Christian woman, and her reward for such a life means that suffering, sickness and sorrow shall be no more.
